The internet is saturated with products, workouts, pills and gimmicks promising incredible results with little effort and in little to no time.

From six-minute abbs to ten minute Bow Flex workouts to super pills that promise you the abbs of a Spartan Warrior in less than two weeks.

It’s hard not to buy into the boloney sandwich they are serving up complete with an extra side of fries and a Coke.

But all jokes and nonsense aside, can you really shed 30 pounds in 30 days?

The answer is yes and no.

As you probably know, the body is composed of 65% water and it is possible to manipulate your water consumption. Fighters do it all the time by restricting their fluid intake and sitting in saunas to drop weight before a big fight.

This is very dangerous and could either kill you or leave you with permanent organ damage and I don’t recommend taking this path.

So, the answer is, yes. You can definitely lose 30 pounds in 30 days. But can you lose 30 pounds of fat in 30 days?

Clinical studies show that to lose one pound of fat you have to burn 3,500 calories more than you take in. That means you would have to do hours of cardio and starve yourself.

Can it be done?

You would have to do two to three hours of cardio a day and depending on your starting weight drop your calorie intake down to around 750 calories per day.

Honestly, by doing this you will feel like death and you most probably will lack the energy to maintain hours of cardio exercises per day unless you were jacked up on uppers…at a very serious risk to your heart.

Trying to drop that much weight in a short space of time is insane. It can be done but at a great cost to your health long term.

But, hey if you are up for the challenge, and want to ignore my warning, see how you go and let me know.
